Frequently Asked Questions

Before patients visit our caring team Edgewood Dental, we know they often have questions. Our friendly, knowledgeable team members are always happy to help, so please don’t hesitate to contact us anytime. For your convenience, we’ve gathered answers to some of the questions we hear most often on this page. The goal of our caring team is to ensure you feel comfortable and free from stress, and making sure you have the answers to all your questions is part of that.

How often should I visit Edgewood Dental?

We recommend patients visit us at least two times each year to ensure they maintain the optimal level of oral health. During these six month dental checkups, we evaluate your smiles for signs of oral health conditions and help you create a personalized treatment plan to keep you smiling.

Can I bring my kids to your office?

We are always happy to treat kids, and we think it can be beneficial for the whole family to visit the same practice. We offer a number of children’s dentistry services that are uniquely geared toward helping your little one develop a healthy, beautiful smile.

What is CEREC?

CEREC stands for chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics. We know that’s a mouthful, but actually, CEREC is, simply put, a same day dental restoration system. That means our team can design, craft, and place a dental crown in just one visit to our office.

What if I have an emergency?

Please contact us right away during dental emergencies. Our team can usually schedule an appointment for patients experiencing emergencies on the same day they contact us. We’ll also walk you through first aid and pain management over the phone.

What is periodontal therapy?

Periodontal therapy is treatment for gum disease. This common oral health condition arises when plaque and tartar buildup at the gum line, irritates soft tissue and begins to break down the supportive structures surrounding teeth. We offer a wide range of periodontal therapies to renew oral health when this occurs.

Do you take my insurance?

We are always happy to process and file dental insurance claims, and we are in-network providers with many of the major benefit plans. We will be happy to help you maximize your coverage to make the cost of care fit your budget.
