Get to Know Dr. Caleb Havlin

A Michigan City native, Dr. Havlin is thrilled to be serving his community and inspiring new reasons to smile here at Edgewood Dental! One of his favorite parts of being a dentist is getting to meet new people with interesting, unique stories every day. If you’re interested in learning more about him, just keep reading below. 

Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Havlin has always been interested in science, and he knew growing up that he wanted to eventually do something in the medical field – he just wasn’t sure which route it would be. It wasn’t until he got an opportunity to shadow our very own Dr. Haughtington while in college that he realized dentistry was the perfect fit! He could see himself doing the same job so clearly right from the get-go, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

After earning his first degree at Ball State University, Dr. Havlin achieved his dental doctorate at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. During this time, he had the opportunity to perform several different aspects of oral healthcare and learn all sorts of cool things, participating in several school groups and clubs. In June of 2019, he even spent a week providing free dental care for a Native American Reservation. Today, he always goes the extra mile to make dentistry a positive experience for patients in need. He wants everyone to feel as informed as possible so that they leave the dental chair with full confidence! 

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Havlin currently lives with his long-time girlfriend and their dog. In his spare time, one of his biggest hobbies is watching the Cubs play – he tries to go to as many games in the summer as possible! He also enjoys playing golf and video games, going to the beach, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends.
