Not being able to tell whether a smile has received dental work may be the best way to determine if the craftmanship is high quality. At Edgewood Dental, we use the best materials and treatment methods to ensure patients have flawless smiles. Perhaps more importantly, we offer these dental services with a gentle touch. Our dentists and team take extra time to ensure you and yours are completely at ease throughout your time in our state-of-the-art office.
Our Michigan City dental practice is a proud in-network provider with many of the nation’s leading dental insurances, including BlueCross BlueShield, Delta Dental, Humana, Cigna, United Healthcare, and more. We additionally accept and file all PPO plans and offer affordable CareCredit financing.
Our in-house membership plan offers a way to help patients get more and spend less on their dental care while avoiding the typical hassles of insurance. Our plan costs less than a regular policy, and you won’t have to deal with things like deductibles, claim forms, waiting periods, or yearly maximums. You can sign up and start saving immediately.
Traditional dental restorations required patients to visit our office at least two times with a week or more between appointments. This can be very inconvenient for our busy patients. That’s why we’re proud to offer same day dental restorations using the advanced CEREC® system. In just one appointment, we can prepare your teeth, design the custom restoration, craft your crown, and place the final solution. We also offer patients traditional crowns and bridges.
Many patients who visit us still believe that traditional metal bracket and wire braces are the only way to get a straighter smile. At Edgewood Dental, we offer a cosmetically superior solution – Six Month Smiles®. Six Month Smiles® uses clear and tooth-colored brackets and wires to quickly straighten just the front teeth. This orthodontic option looks and feels more natural, while delivering flawless results.
We care about our patients and neighbors in the community. Whether it’s in the office or out, we go above and beyond to make Michigan City a great place for patients to live and work. Our dentists and team members volunteer with, support, and fundraise for numerous charitable organizations and community events. If you’re passionate about a local program or organization, tell us about it at your next appointment! We may be able to lend a hand.
The fastest way to get the information you’re looking for regarding your oral health or dental care is by calling our office. Of course, some people may have busier schedules or would prefer to research online first. Still, our team wants to make sure that you can have a stress-free experience when it comes to looking for answers. That’s why we’ve taken the time to compile some of our most commonly asked questions from patients in our community! Feel free to reach out to us if you still don’t see the answers you’re looking for.
This will mainly depend on the different factors that you find important to you, which may include things like location, hours, insurance/payment and fees, tidiness, credentials, and safety. Additionally, you’ll want to know the kind of treatment(s) you’re interested in, such as undergoing care from a cosmetic dentist for veneers or teeth whitening, or needing dental implants to rebuild missing teeth. Some dentists may be better choices for certain procedures. Remember to also get a feel for your dental team and if they prioritize customized care. At Edgewood Dental, we focus on personalizing every treatment to address your unique dental needs.
The cost of dental checkups and cleanings will tend to vary based on things like geography and the patient's current oral health. In most cases, however, the average price across the United States for this treatment is usually between $200 and $350. If you have dental insurance, you might expect your dentist and provider to negotiate the fees. Most times, checkups and cleanings can be entirely covered by your plan. During these appointments, you can expect us to discuss your health history and your smile concerns as well as perform an exam, a professional cleaning, an oral cancer screening, and X-rays.
The general cost of a tooth extraction across the country is typically around $150 and $400. This can depend on several factors such as geography, the patient’s dental health, and the complexity of the procedure. For instance, extracting an incisor may cost less compared to removing a wisdom tooth, which often requires the specialized services of an oral surgeon. Also, you might expect other fees to apply if you receive other treatments, such as sedation dentistry. Those with dental insurance might expect a portion of their tooth extraction to be covered based on the details of their policy, so make sure to consult your provider or our team so you can know how to maximize your benefits.
Remember that dentistry is all about prevention, so by cleaning your teeth at home every day and visiting your dentist every six months, you can save more by avoiding costly dental problems. Dental insurance is an incredible tool that can help pay some of the cost of various treatments, so be sure to talk with your provider about the specifics of your plan. If you aren’t covered, you might consider joining our in-house membership plan for significant discounts or signing up with CareCredit to turn the cost of your dental care into monthly installments that come with little to no interest!
